Northleaze C of E Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment.
All school staff are trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection, and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Below is the team with responsibility for Safeguarding at Northleaze School:
The Designated Person for Looked After Children (LAC) is Victoria Reyes.
On rare occasions our concern about a child may mean that we have to consult other agencies. We will ensure that all concerns are discussed with parent/carers first, before any referrals are made, unless we believe that such a move may be contrary to a child’s welfare.
SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYONE’S BUSINESS
If at any point there is a risk of immediate, serious harm to a child, a referral should be made to Children’s Social Care and/or the police straightaway.
Anybody can make the referral by calling: 01275 888808.
If it is out of office hours call: 01454 615165.
