Celebrating Our SIAMS Inspection Success

On 8 July 2026, we welcomed a SIAMS inspector to Northleaze for a full inspection of our work as a Church school. Throughout the day, the inspector met with pupils, staff, governors, trust leaders and parents, visited lessons, attended collective worship and explored how our Christian vision,"Let your light shine", shapes daily life across the school. 

We are thrilled that the inspection recognised the many strengths of our school and concluded that:

"Northleaze Church of England Primary School is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish." 

This report is a celebration of our entire school community. It reflects the commitment of our staff, the enthusiasm and kindness of our pupils, the support of our families and governors, and the strength of our partnership with the Lighthouse Schools Partnership. Together, we are proud to continue helping everyone at Northleaze to let their light shine.

Celebrating Our Strengths:

The report recognised that:

"School leaders, along with the Lighthouse Schools Partnership, coherently ensure that the Christian vision is central to all that they do. It is embedded into policy and practice."  

The inspector highlighted how our vision and values create a culture in which everyone is supported to flourish, praising the way the school nurtures wellbeing, inclusion and belonging.

A Strong Sense of Community and Belonging

The report noted that:

"The vision creates an inclusive culture where pupils and adults are valued and supported to thrive."

Parents were recognised for the important role they play within our community, with the inspector commenting:

"Parents value the caring ethos. They recognise its positive impact on pupils' confidence, resilience and readiness to learn."  

We are especially proud that our Christian values of responsibility, creativity, respect, compassion, resilience and friendship were recognised as being evident in the relationships that exist throughout our school community.  

Worship and Spiritual Flourishing

Collective worship was identified as a significant strength of the school.

"Collective worship forms an integral part of the rhythm of the school day."

The report also celebrated the opportunities pupils have to reflect, pray and grow spiritually, noting that:

"Spiritual flourishing is evident through pupils' participation in worship

The inspector recognised the impact of our worship leaders and the inclusive nature of worship across the school community.  

High Quality Religious Education

Religious Education was identified as a particular strength, with the report stating:

"RE is a strength at Northleaze, pupils and staff value its importance."

The inspector praised our curriculum for developing pupils' understanding of Christianity and other worldviews and concluded that:

"They demonstrate strong religious literacy and are well prepared for life in a diverse society."

As a school, we are incredibly proud of this report and thankful to everyone who contributes to making Northleaze such a special place to learn, work and grow.
