Church School Partnership

“The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners.” SIAMS Church School Inspection 2017

At Northleaze Church of England Primary School, our Christian ethos is at the heart of everything we do. As a proud Church of England school, we have a close and cherished relationship with All Saints Church, located in the heart of Long Ashton. This partnership is central to our identity and helps us bring our vision“Let Your Light Shine” (Matthew 5:16)to life in meaningful ways.

A Living Partnership

Our connection with All Saints Church goes beyond worship. It is a relationship that nurtures faith, strengthens community, and enriches the spiritual life of our school. Reverend James and Reverend Jo play an active role in school life, supporting pupils and staff through pastoral care, leading special projects, and helping us explore what it means to live out our Christian values in everyday life.

Opportunities for Spiritual Growth

Children experience the church as a sacred space throughout their time at Northleaze. From the Reception welcome service to the Year 6 leavers’ celebration, these moments mark important milestones in their journey. Our pupils also enjoy opportunities such as:

  • Bible Club, run by members of the clergy each term, encouraging deeper engagement with Christian stories and themes.
  • Choir performances at church services, allowing children to share their gifts and bring joy to the congregation.
  • Community events and services, where families and staff join together to celebrate key moments in the Christian calendar.
  • Artwork displays – Each term, pupils create artwork inspired by worship themes or Christian values, which is proudly displayed at All Saints Church for the whole community to enjoy.

Inclusive and Welcoming

While our partnership is rooted in Christian tradition, we actively celebrate and welcome children and families of all faiths and beliefs. This relationship is about building community, fostering respect, and creating opportunities for reflection and growth for everyone.

Our partnership with All Saints Church is more than a tradition—it is a living expression of our vision. It helps every child develop confidence, compassion, and a sense of belonging, so they can shine brightly in all that they do.

Throughout their journey at Northleaze, children experience special moments at All Saints Church. Our Reception pupils are warmly welcomed to the church as they begin their school journey, and our Year 6 leavers take part in a special service to celebrate their time at Northleaze before moving on to new adventures. In addition, we gather at All Saints Church to mark key events in the Christian calendar, including Harvest, Christmas, and Easter, strengthening our faith and sense of belonging as a school community.

Music also plays a special role in our connection with the church. Our school choir is invited to sing at services throughout the year, bringing joy to the congregation and allowing our children to let their light shine through song.

At Northleaze, we are incredibly proud of our relationship with All Saints Church. It is a partnership that nurtures our pupils’ spiritual growth, encourages a strong sense of community, and helps every child develop the confidence to shine brightly in all that they do.
