On Wednesday 19th October our year 6 boys and girls football teams played matches against Crockerne Primary. The winning teams would earn a place in the North Somerset Primary Schools Football Finals to be held in November. Both matches were very competitive and exciting and I'm pleased to say that the boys won 5-4 and the girls 4-2! Congratulations to all of the children that took part.
Boys match report by Claudia
It is the day of the match. We are doing excellently and we have good defenders and a fantastic goalie, Jamie. The ball is going very high and we're scoring goals. Everyone is lined up and watching the match. The reception children are watching and cheering. The girls are getting ready with Kirsty, 30 seconds left . . . Louis, Bodie and Riley were the people I thought were the best. The boys won 5-4!
Girls match report by Claudia
A fantastic moment, we have just scored thanks to Sofia. I am sure we will make an excellent team and we might even win. I'm finding this a very pressurised moment and am excited to see what happens. Rose just did a fantastic kick to Sofia. We're getting ready for the next round. Right now Sofia is on fire!!! The girls are doing a fantastic job and are doing our school proud. The girls from Crockerne are very fast. Crockerne just scored. We have done brilliantly. Crockerne just scored again, making even more noise, I'm sure I'm deaf now! Half time . . . now we're back on. We have started well, I hope it carries on. We scored again! Go us, go us! Game over and we won! Whoo hop!!!

On Wednesday 19th October, Year 4 took part in a hockey skills intra house competition. The children took part in 6 different activities, earning points for their house group. Many of the activities gave the children the opportunity to display the skills that they had learnt in their hockey lessons this term. We were very impressed with what we saw, including some impressive dribbling and great teamwork.
Congratulations to Yanley who were our winners!
On Wednesday 19th October, our year one and two classes joined together to take part in a hockey skills intra house competition. In mixed year 1/2 house teams, the children took part in eight different activities, earning points for their house group. Lots of the activities gave the children the opportunity to display the skills that they had learnt in their hockey lessons this term. It also gave the children the chance to experience a PE lesson with a slightly more competitive format. It was great to see the children displaying the skills that they had learnt and some showed real talent!
A huge thank you to the members of the SSOC (School Sports Organising Crew) from Year 3 that ran the activities and took many of the photos for me.
Congratulations to our winning overall team Brook 1 and the winning house Brook!
